about the AUTHOR
Dr Hennie Roos
Dr Roos is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who trained at Stellenbosch University and holds fellowships from both South Africa and Paris. After more than a decade in private practice, he turned his focus to research—contributing a chapter to the seminal textbook Male Aesthetic Surgery and authoring seven peer-reviewed journal articles.
For the past fifteen years, his work has centred on pharmaceutical-grade hypochlorous acid (HOCl), exploring its applications across a wide range of wound types and, more recently, its anti-neoplastic properties. He is the founder and director of Thoclor Labs, based in Stellenbosch, and was recognised in 2024 with an African Health Excellence Honorary Award—the same year Trifectiv was named one of the World's Top Ten Infection Innovator Companies.
